AI for New Users
Course › Module 1: What AI actually is › Lesson 3 of 24

What it is good at, and what it is not

Use it for first drafts, rewording, explaining, summing up and coming up with ideas. Be careful with exact facts, recent news, math, and anything about you.

Key points

What the video says

AI is a strong helper for some jobs, and a weak one for others. Knowing which is which saves you trouble.

It is good at drafting a first version, rewording, and explaining things in plain words.

It is also good at summarizing long text and brainstorming ideas.

It is weak at exact facts it was never shown, and at very recent news, unless the tool can search the web.

It can slip on precise math, so check the numbers.

And it does not know you personally, your life, your plans, or your needs, unless you tell it.

Use it for a first draft. You finish the job.

Next module: how to ask for what you want.
