Asking it to explain simpler

You can always ask for a simpler explanation, an everyday example, short steps, or a one-question check. It never gets tired of explaining.

Key points

What the video says

AI can explain almost anything. And if the answer feels too hard, you can simply ask it to make it easier.

Start with these words: explain this like I'm new to this. It will drop the big words and slow down.

Then ask for one everyday example, something from normal life, like cooking or shopping.

Ask it to break the answer into three short steps, so you can follow along one at a time.

To check that it really clicked, ask it to quiz you with one easy question, then tell it your answer.

Still confusing? Just say: say that again, simpler. It never gets annoyed, so ask as many times as you like.

Next: fixing a bad answer in one reply.

Try it yourself

Explain what people mean by 'the cloud' (storing things online) like I am new to this. Use one everyday example.
Now ask me one question to check I understood.

Check yourself

  1. The explanation is confusing. What is the best next message?
  2. How can you check you understood?
  3. Is it okay to ask the same thing several times?
