Staying safe with AI
Check important facts, never paste private numbers, and know that voices and photos can be faked.
Key points
- Check health, money and legal answers with a real source.
- Never type passwords, card numbers or your Social Security number.
- A scary call asking for money? Hang up and call back.
- Your chats may be saved and used to improve the tool. You can usually turn that off. Look in its Settings, under Privacy.
What the video says
AI is a helpful tool, but it has one weak spot: it can make things up and still sound completely sure.
So for anything important, like your health, your money, or a legal question, check with a real source or a professional.
Never type your passwords, bank or card numbers, or your Social Security number into an AI chat.
Scammers use AI too. They can copy a voice from a short recording and make fake photos that look real.
If a family member calls in a panic asking for money, hang up.
Then call them back on the number you already know is theirs.
Even better, pick a family code word that only your family knows.
Next up: using it for everyday jobs.
