Course › Module 2: How to ask for what you want › Lesson 6 of 24

Fixing a bad answer in one reply

Do not start over. Reply with what to change, point to the exact part, show an example, or ask for two versions and pick.

Key points

What the video says

Got an answer you don't love? Don't start over. Just reply in the same chat and tell it what to change.

A few words are enough: shorter, friendlier, use my name, or drop the second idea. It rewrites it right away.

Point at the exact part you want fixed, like: the second sentence sounds too stiff, make it warmer.

Give it an example of what you want, a sentence you like, and it will follow that style.

Or ask for two versions, read them side by side, then pick the one you like best.

Each small reply gets it closer, and you keep everything that already worked, so nothing good is lost.

Next module: staying safe.

Try it yourself

Write a short note asking my neighbor to keep their dog off my lawn.
Make it friendlier, and give me two versions.

Check yourself

  2. You are not sure which tone you want. Try:
  3. Why reply instead of starting a new chat?
