Using AI on your phone
Get the official app, check the maker's name, then type, talk, or take a photo and ask about it.
Key points
- Get the app from the App Store or Google Play. Look at the company name under the app. ChatGPT is by OpenAI. Claude is by Anthropic. Gemini is by Google.
- Tap the microphone and just talk.
- Snap a photo of a plant, sign or form and ask about it. Cover personal numbers.
What the video says
You can use AI right on your phone, wherever you are, whenever a question pops into your head.
First, get the official app from the App Store or Google Play.
Check the maker's name before you install it, because copycat apps exist.
To ask a question, you can type, or tap the microphone and just talk.
Many apps let you take a photo and ask about it: a plant, a sign in another language, or a confusing form.
If a form shows personal numbers, cover them before you take the picture.
The same safety rules apply: keep your passwords private, and check anything important.
Next: pictures and read-aloud tools.
Try it yourself
(Use the microphone) Tell me three things I can do with you on my phone.
(Take a photo of a plant) What plant is this, and how often should I water it?
Check yourself
- How do you avoid copycat apps?
- You can't type well on your phone. What helps?
- Before photographing a form to ask about it:
