Course › Module 5: Picking your first tool › Lesson 15 of 24
Pictures and read-aloud tools
Some tools draw a picture from a sentence. Others read text out loud, and your phone already has that built in.
Key points
- Describe subject, style and colors for a picture.
- AI pictures are made up; never pass them off as real photos.
- iPhone: open Settings, then Accessibility, then Spoken Content. Turn on Speak Selection.
- Android: open Settings, then Accessibility, then Select to Speak.
What the video says
Some AI tools can draw a picture from a sentence you type.
You could make a birthday card for a friend, or a bright poster for a yard sale.
Describe what you want: the subject, the style, and the colors.
Remember, these pictures are made up by the computer, so never pass them off as real photos.
Read-aloud tools do something different: they take written words and turn them into speech you can hear.
They're great for tired eyes, or for listening while you walk or cook.
Your phone already has this built in: Spoken Content on iPhone, and Select to Speak on Android.
Next module: going further, with kids, work, and how to keep learning.
Try it yourself
